ABOUT TEACHING AND LEARNING CENTRE

Education is a threshold of knowledge to human beings and paves the ways to exist in great society with harmony. Though the current education system focuses on the knowledge of teachers’, it is ignoring the teaching and learning process, pedagogical content and its tools which plays pivotal role in gaining the quality of learning experience in higher education.

The higher education has introduced teaching and learning centre to facilitate the teachers with learning environment for the holistic development of students.

Annamacharya Institute of Technology & Sciences, Kadapa follows the guidelines of TLC and creates a resourceful teaching and learning environment in order to acquire the effectiveness in teaching, as it is a challenging task for teachers to capture the attention and imagination of the students in the class.

There exist a strong bond among the prominent elements in education such as faculty, students, as well as teaching and learning process. Thus, to strengthen the bond between teacher and student, the information and communication technology which is a part of higher education instructs to facilitate effective teaching and learning process in the education field. In the current scenario, it is necessary for the teaching faculty to update their existing skills, develop and adapt new skills along with the learning and teaching methods by utilizing the technology so that the students can gain knowledge on new contents in enjoyable, creative and productive ways.

Aits, Kadapa puts its efforts for academic excellence and proves in actions. In view of this objective, the institute placed Teaching and learning Centre (TLC) to enrich the teaching and learning process for the successive growth in students’ learning abilities and also to enhance the effectiveness in teaching practices of the faculty. The TLC used to carry out research on innovative teaching pedagogy throughout the world and distribute among the faculty, conduct intensive teaching workshops and webinars. Also TLC invites experts and resource persons from all over india to deliver lectures on relevant topics.

>This TLC program always focuses and schedules programs on learning process to engage the teachers mainly on student centered attention. Proposed TLC assumes the importance in the context of learner centered approaches, this ICT integrated learning and recent researches in new pedagogic approaches to teaching and learning in higher education, particularly, the TLC will create an educational environment where both teachers and students are academically benefitted, actively engaged, and challenged in enhancing their knowledge.

Objectives

Objectives of the TLC are:

  • To promote innovative, collaborative and evidence-based effective teaching and learning practices in technical education system.
  • To advance the teaching fraternity for leverage of information and communication and technologies (ICT) for teaching-learning process.
  • To expose the faculty to assignment and evaluation strategies./
  • To promote linear centric environment in the institute.
  • To present an opportunity for educators to share their effective teaching and learning practices.
  • To instill research culture among the teaching fraternity of the institution.
  • To endow the faculty through FDPS, workshops, training sessions, etc for enhancing their domain knowledge and skills.
  • To organize faculty induction programs for bridging the gap in teaching and learning process brought in the education system.
  • To hasten the teaching learning process by promoting critical thinking.
